Thank you, Dan.
1st door installed wrong installer was not experienced, different installer came back to fix couple weeks later paid a lot of money expected much more....2nd door main front door ended up defective they came back removed and reinstalled overall for cost I was not satisfied
We had some problems with our front door project, Ivan came out to consult and address our concerns. He was very thorough and accommodating and although the work isn’t completed yet, I was pleased with what he said about what would be done to make us happy customers. Thank you Ivan

We're happy to hear the team could help, Raymond! Thank you for taking the time to share!
Chuck came out to check the loose locking mechanism on our slider. I thought it was breaking but he explained that it was normal wear on this part. He took the part off & showed me why it was loose & then put it back on. No charge for the visit.

Really truly bad. I was fed up navigating the local contractors and thought I could buy my way out of the problem with Renewal. So wrong. On balance I’d roll the dice with almost any local contractor rather than deal with this lot again. To start with, the sales guy was nice and ultra responsive. I was getting strong yes-to anything vibes but it was a pretty good start. As soon as he turns you over to the working team is when the real problems begin. First there is the measuring guy Ivan (possibly the most unpleasant person I’ve had the displeasure of allowing into my home) who no-showed the first day and then showed up a few days later looking pissed with a trainee in tail. I speculate he didn’t like driving all the way out to the Northwest corner of CT and the first no-show was a gambit to get out of it. He measures some stuff, dodges some questions, and leaves. He then goes on a month-long adventure with his engineers who know stuff about construction where they figure out they can only do half the contract. Fine. During this time he is soliciting me to go crawl around the attic and take pictures and measurements, and generally wasting a lot of everyone’s time to avoid coming back up and doing what he should have done in the first place. The day arrives and two kids I’ve never seen show up. Ivan nowhere to be found and the kids barely know which end of the tool to hold. The plans don’t specify anything other than the size of the header so they try to support a 10’ span on a single pair of jack studs. Fortunately my spider sense is screaming and the internet tells me this is really dumb. I made enough of a stink to get them to add a second pair. They spend the day doing construction travesties including using the wrong tool on the siding (oscillating multitool rather than circular saw) leading to about 50 slices straight through the sheathing at the margins of the exterior trim. Also they used multiple lengths of 2x10” on the header rather than a single length which is an inexplicable way to save $20-30 at the cost of the structural integrity of the header. They start giving me crap about the electric not being finished because they don’t want to do the drywall and I’m only too happy to be rid of them. Anderson sends out another guy to do the drywall a few weeks later and I find out I wasn’t unlucky the first time because none of their workers know which end of the tool to hold. This guy is actually really nice at least. He finishes the drywall and some trim but he didn’t bring the backband so he can’t finish the job either. The only word from Andersen since then is a letter in the mail telling me they didn’t close out the permit and I’m supposed to do that. In summary, they do a bunch of terrible work and then leave you to explain it to the town inspector. It’s in the fine print of the contract so look out for that clause. I ripped off the trim and redid it since you could see uneven joints at two corners. I’ll do without backband on the trim rather than give this team another chance to do more amateur work. In summary, don’t walk, run. Roll the dice with whatever local contractor you can find rather than let these amateurs anywhere near your house. The only thing I would trust them to do is a like-for-like window swap, and in that case why pay Renewal prices?

We're sorry to hear this has been your experience. We have passed your review on to our team. Thank you for your patience in advance.
I’m rescinding my initial 5 star review, and this is why- This location is where Renewal by Andersen told me they manufactured my windows and screens. I have been trying to get my window screen installed properly for over 3 years. They came out in 2022 to replace 3 large windows in my living room that had been sealed shut by a flipper. Either my husband or I have had to take time off work (super easy and not at all inconvenient to our commands when we need to do this— please read that with dripping sarcasm—) each of the half dozen or so times we’ve had to have Andersen out. The window is measured, and screen is measured when it’s manufactured, and somehow it never fits. First two times, I was told the window was too big to have a screen put in it (which is funny because it’s smaller than my sliding door,) and during the second appointment, I was told that there is nothing anyone could do. I gave up for a while and then realized I PAID FOR THESE WINDOWS and I should be able to use them. One of us now has to take yet ANOTHER day off because they can’t get it right. We’ve taken several days off for them to cancel on us, or to bring out more screens that do not fit. They’ve offered me 500 credits “toward a future repair or purchase,” which is a slap in the face. I just want to be able to open the windows I paid for. The people who handle customer service calls are fantastic, but the product as far as I’m concerned is low quality (again, because I can’t use it and they can’t figure out how to make a screen fit a window they custom built, which is wild.) One star, do not recommend, they should be ashamed of themselves. Nobody there seems to be concerned that they’re providing half a product that was paid for in full.
